Cristiano Ronaldo trolled by his Portuguese teammate, Diogo Dalot on his Piers Morgan interview when CR7 left Man United

Diogo Dalot has risked Cristiano Ronaldo’s wrath after delightfully teasing the great on Instagram. Former Manchester United teammates are presently on international duty for Portugal. They are preparing for Euro qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the 38-year-old returned to Old Trafford in 2021, full-back Dalot, 24, and renowned striker Ronaldo formed a strong friendship.

Dalot still remains a member of Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils squad, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made an abrupt exit last December. He was released by United after a shocking interview with Piers Morgan in which he claimed the club had “betrayed” him and that he had “no respect” for Ten Hag. Cristiano Ronaldo also predicted that Manchester United would be at least three years away from challenging City for the Premier League title.

Cristiano Ronaldo also took aim at some of the youngsters at Old Trafford, saying, “They don’t listen. They don’t care. They’re not going to have longevity in their career. This generation, not many are going to reach the level. I don’t think they disrespect experienced players, that’s not the word. But it’s a different generation.”

He continued, ‘There’s no hunger, they have things too easy. They don’t suffer. All leagues in the world, the youngest now, they are not the same as my generation. But we cannot blame them because, it’s part of life, you know. The new generation and the new technologies that distract them for another thing so… but they are not the same.’

He did, however, highlight his compatriot Dalot as one of only THREE players who are giving their all to return United to its previous glory. And Dalot couldn’t help but make light of it as he sat next to Cristiano Ronaldo, who was on his phone while they were together this week.

He instantly took a photo of the now Al-Nassr ace and posted it to his Instagram story. This was along with a lighthearted caption mocking his senior colleague’s previous remarks. Dalot wrote: “This new generation always on the phone.”

Meanwhile, Dalot said last summer that United’s team would have been content for the goal-machine to stay. He said, ‘We know the quality that Cristiano Ronaldo brings, it was a mutual decision to take different paths and we just have to accept it.’

Dalot continued, ‘We wanted Cristiano to be with us. we tried to make the most of the time it was in and it still gave us a lot. We have to live with the decision that was made, look forward and with the weapons we have continue to fight.’

While Cristiano Ronaldo might not be playing in Europe anymore, his plans have not changed. CR7 is still looking to play until 2026 and take part in the World Cup that year. It will be interesting to see if he will be on the flight to the USA for the mega-event.
