Wolves spent a club-record £38 million on Nunes’ signing back in August, but the 24-year-old may not stick around Molineux for a full season. Nunes has been a notable performer in the middle of the park despite Wolves’ troubles this season—Julen Lopetegui’s team is only above the relegation zone on goal differential.

At Wolves, Nunes showed flashes of his ‘unbelievable’ talent. But you get the impression that he has a lot more to offer. The Seleccao star is an attack minded centre midfielder, who impressed big time and won many titles for Sporting CP in the past two seasons. The 24-year-old box-to-box specialist has played 1400 first-team minutes in 20 outings for his current club. Unfortunately, since leaving the Lions in the summer transfer window, he has not been able to perform effectively at Molineux regularly.
Nunes, who has received 11 international caps for his nation, has consistently started for the team and has performed well enough to capture the attention of some of the top clubs in the league. Liverpool had the opportunity to sign Nunes last summer, but decided against it, giving Wolves a free pass to sign him. The Reds now appear to have made a mistake given that they are 10 points off the top four despite having played half of their league games.
