Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly arrived at the club last season. Since then, he went on a spending spree in their last two transfer windows. That resulted in a bloated squad of 31 talented players. However, instead than solving their problems, it created more at the club. Chelsea changed their man at the helm three times last season. All of those coaches complained that the squad hindered their team selection and training sessions. Additionally, they also reported a £121 million financial loss.

They failed to progress far in the Champions League. They ended their nightmare season in 2022-23 in 12th position in the Premier League table as well. This means that they will not be participating in any European competition next season. To restart in a much better way and to recover from their financial loss, they will have to sell several players this summer transfer window. They have lined up a number of them to sell which includes Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Edouard Mendy.

All three players garnered interest from Saudi clubs. The clubs have recently been on a mission to bring in some of Europe’s top players to the Saudi Pro League. Edouard Mendy is set to join Al-Ahli on an undisclosed amount. Whereas, reportedly, Ziyech is moving to Al-Nassr on a £8 million fee and Koulibaly could be moving to Al-Hilal on a £17 million. The amounts are still a matter to confirm from either club. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the deals are done.

As per him, the contracts for the three players are being prepared and checked by lawyers in the meantime. Additionally, they will also undergo their medical tests for the Saudi clubs within the next few days. Al-Ittihad have also been trying to bring in N’Golo Kante for some time now. Reportedly, they have managed to sign the French midfielder on a £86 million fee. He will be joining the side alongside his France teammate Karim Benzema who also joined only a few weeks ago.

Along with these players leaving for the Saudi clubs, several other Chelsea players are also on the market. Manchester United are looking to bring in Mason Mount who could be perfect for their venture to strengthen the team before next season. Arsenal are close to seal Kai Havertz on a £65 million deal along with their quest to bring in West Ham United captain Declan Rice. Last, but not the least, Manchester City are looking to recruit Mateo Kovacic in the absence of their departing captain Ilkay Gundogan.
