The pursuit of the new manager is on
According to The Athletic, Chelsea’s sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are in the final stages of appointing a new manager, with a decision expected in the next few days.
It is widely reported that former Tottenham and Southampton manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is the leading candidate and is set to return to coaching after his departure from Paris Saint-Germain a year ago.

Is the Argentine the right option?
During his previous spell in England, Mauricio Pochettino led Tottenham to the final of the Champions League.
At Paris Saint-Germain, he won the Ligue 1 title while managing star players like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Pochettino is now set to take over as Chelsea’s new manager, inheriting a squad that has invested £600 million ($758m) on new players over the past two transfer windows but currently sits in 11th place in the Premier League table.
