Erling Haaland and Manchester City want to begin contract negotiations in the coming months in an effort to further bind the record-breaker. With the Treble champions, Haaland has four years left on his present contract. Although there is interest in extending it by at least another season. Any progress made in obtaining new terms for the striker—who is anticipated to get a rise in salary from his current base of £400,000 per week plus bonuses—would be a serious setback for Real Madrid.

Man City want to tie down Erling Haaland
Real Madrid are keen on luring the 23-year-old to the Bernabeu. They also have a serious interest in Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain. Erling Haaland passed on Madrid last year. Instead, he opted to make a £51 million go to City in the midst of a fierce transfer war.

While speaking at a football summit in London, she said, ‘Erling Haaland went to City because there was such a history of his family with the club. And also of course above that, very much above that, is that he wanted to play for Pep Guardiola.’

She continued, ‘When I started in this business, if I would say to a player ‘I’ll bring you to England’ the first thing they would say would be ‘What did I do wrong? Why don’t you like me?’ Now, if I ask a player ‘What is your goal?’ He will say the Premier League.’
She ended by saying, ‘It’s a fantastic league. It’s competitive. Every game is a challenge. Everybody wants to watch it. They want to be here. But there is the Premier League. And there is Real Madrid. Madrid has something of its own that makes it the Dreamland for the players. Madrid keeps this magic going. It doesn’t have the league competition but it does have the Champions League.’
