Bayern Munich Transfer News: Bayern Munich is still keen on signing a new striker this summer, with Harry Kane being one of their potential targets. However, negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be challenging and the club wants to avoid a long and drawn-out transfer saga.
Bayern’s interest in a new striker comes after failing to replace Robert Lewandowski in 2022. Club President Herbert Hainer confirmed their plans to bolster the team’s attacking options following their exit from the Champions League at the quarter-final stage last month.

Ex-boss Julian Nagelsmann wanted the English striker
Bayern Munich publicly expressed their interest in Harry Kane back in July 2022, when former manager Julian Nagelsmann, who is now a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur job, admitted his admiration for the England captain. This move reportedly frustrated Spurs manager Antonio Conte.
Since then, several key figures at Bayern have spoken highly of Kane in interviews, but have also acknowledged the potential financial obstacles in securing the player’s transfer.
While 90min has previously reported that Bayern believes Kane would be open to a move abroad, recent sources have suggested that the club is starting to have second thoughts about pursuing the deal.
Bayern looking at other options now
Bayern Munich is keen to act quickly in their search for a new striker and has reportedly shifted its focus to Randal Kolo Muani as a backup target for Harry Kane.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt’s valuation of the French international at €100m is considered too high by Bayern, and negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel was asked about the club’s interest in Kolo Muani at a press conference on Friday, initially laughing before replying: “I cannot confirm that [he is a target]. I wouldn’t confirm it even if it were the case. At the moment, that’s not a topic.“
Randal Kolo Muani has been in impressive form since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Nantes in the summer of 2021. He has already scored 21 goals in 41 games for the German club.
Kolo Muani was also a key player in France’s impressive run to the World Cup final in Qatar, where he famously came close to scoring in the last minute of extra time, only to be denied by an excellent save from Emi Martinez.
