Only 11 minutes later, Trossard came close to scoring as his effort smacked off a Seagulls defender and hit the crossbar. The Belgian was on the verge of handing the hosts a crucial lead when he wheeled away in pain.
The Gunners tried hard to score first, but it simply wasn’t meant to be. In the 45th and first minute, Bukayo Saka fired, but the ball bounced against the right post and went behind. They knew they trailed City by three points going into the break

They paid for those squandered opportunities as Brighton seized the lead in the 51st minute. When he headed Pervis Estupinan’s cross into the net, Julio Enciso scored his third goal in his previous eight appearances across competitions.
