In the seventh minute of stoppage time, Nelson scored a left-footed goal to cause chaos inside the Emirates as referee Chris Kavanagh prepared to sound the final whistle.

Although Manchester City’s earlier 2-0 victory against Newcastle United increased the pressure on Arsenal and reduced their advantage to two points, the hosts were shocked when relegation-threatened Bournemouth’s Philip Billing scored after only nine seconds.
