On Sunday, the two midfield powerhouses squared off on the pitch during a London derby between West Ham and Arsenal. Odegaard scored, giving Arsenal a 2-0 lead after just 10 minutes. West Ham, though, pulled off a remarkable comeback to earn a 2-2 draw, ending Arsenal’s title chances.
Rice and Odegaard were spotted in-depth conversing after the game. The Norwegian was then given an Arsenal jersey with his name and number on it. As Odegaard inscribed his signature on the garment, Rice clung to it tightly. England’s great Rice has a fantastic collection of shirts from his toughest competitors, including those of Mason Mount, Harry Kane, and Jack Grealish.

However, the contact with Odegaard was viewed by Arsenal supporters as a strong indication that Rice will sign with them this summer. The dominant player wants to leave West Ham in order to play in the Champions League. Rice is thought to be one of Mikel Arteta’s primary objectives.
Fans were quick to jump on the transfer bandwagon and suggest that this means Rice is joining the Gunners next season. One fan said, ‘Rice is gagging to leave West Ham, wow.’ Another declared, ‘He is ours. He wants us.’ One noted, ‘100 per cent going to Arsenal.’ Another added, ‘He could have waited until the summer when on the same but I can’t blame the guy.’

Martin Ødegaard’s words after the West Ham game
Arsenal fans and players alike would have been disappointed with their two draws on the trot in the Premier League. Man City are breathing down their neck, just 4 points behind them, with one game in hand too. Ødegaard urged his Arsenal teammates to not let their heads drop, despite their two blips in their last 2 Premier League games.
He said, ‘We have to remember we are still top of the league with everything in our own hands. The same mindset, same mentality to make sure we win the next one. We started well then stopped, allowed them to play on their qualities. We gave them the game they wanted, we gave them hope and that’s on us. We have to look forward now.’
The Gunners will have to pull up their socks now as they face a stern test in the Premier League. After their next game against Southampton, their next 4 games will be against Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Brighton. If they manage to win all their remaining games, then the title will be theirs. Their game against Manchester City on the 27th of April will potentially be the title-defining game of the season.
