Arsenal 2-0 Leicester City Live: Arsenal beat Leicester to retake 4th place
Arsenal showed they are ready for Champions League football next season with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Leicester. Mikel Arteta named an unchanged side as they looked to go ahead of Manchester United and into fourth place.
Arsenal thought they might have had a penalty inside the opening five minutes but the referee waved play on after Gabriel Martinelli was fouled inside the area. But it wasn’t long before they got their goal as Thomas Partey headed in at the near post from a corner.
The Gunners were in the mood now and almost doubled their lead only for Partey’s effort to crash off the crossbar. After their initial sluggishness, Leicester slowly got back into this game and went close twice in quick succession only to be denied by Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale was the hero again as he flew to his right and tipped a Mark Albrighton header over the bar. After the break it was Arsenal who looked the most likely to get a goal as Martinelli made dangerous runs down the left-hand side.
But it was Partey again who thought he had doubled his tally for the day, only to have his header cleared off the line. But after a VAR check, it was confirmed that Çağlar Söyüncü had actually handled Partey’s header and Alexandre Lacazette netted the subsequent penalty.
