Arsenal vs Man United Live: Club Friendlies LIVE – ARS vs MUN LIVE – Arsenal are set to meet Manchester United in a friendly match in their United States vacation. Arsenal finally won and that too by a big margin against the MLS All-star team after 2 draws in their first two pre-season friendlies. On the other hand, Manchester United are coming with 2 wins from their 2 pre-season matches in the bag. Both teams will be determined to get the better of their bitter rivals on Saturday.

Arsenal started their pre-season journey with two 1-1 draws against Watford and Nurnberg. Marquinhos, who spent last season’s second half on loan at Norwich, came back to Arsenal for the pre-season training session. He scored the equaliser against Watford in their first pre-season game. Last season’s ace player Bukayo Saka scored the only goal for them in the second match against Nurnberg. Finally, their win came against the MLS All-star team. Their 5-0 win also became the biggest margin victory since 2000 in MLS All-star games.

Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, Gabriel Jesus, and new addition Kai Havertz, were all on the scoresheet against the MLS All-Star team. Their record signing Declan Rice also made his non-competitive debut in this match. The Gunners’ next match is against Manchester United who handed them their first defeat last season. Their following fixtures don’t get any kinder as they will next face Barcelona on July 26. Then they meet Monaco for the Emirates Cup match. Before they start their Premier League campaign, they will face Manchester City for the FA Community Shield match.

Manchester United are coming with two straight pre-season wins in their bag. They won their first match by a 2-0 margin against Leeds United and then by a 1-0 margin against Lyon. While there were a number of recognisable names that won Arsenal their pre-season matches, it was some of the forgotten or new names that shone for Man United. Donny van de Beek who spent a lot of last season in the sideline due to injury, scored the winner against Lyon in their last pre-season match.

Young and new names Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill each scored one goal against Leeds United in their first pre-season friendly. Before they approach their next friendly against the Gunners, there have made two big changes. First, they changed their captain from Harry Maguire to Bruno Fernandes. Second, they have completed the signing of Andre Onana from Internazionale. Reportedly, the goalkeeper has even been seen boarding a flight to the United States. Hence, there is a chance that he could even make his non-competitive debut against Arsenal.

Arsenal Team News

  • Arsenal might have found their way back to winning, but it was not all sunny for every player. Leandro Trossard who already took a knock during their second friendly against Nurnberg, received another blow to the knee in their 5-0 thrashing of the MLS All-star. As a result, he was taken off 56 minutes into the game as Gabriel Martinelli took his place.
  • Coach Arteta played down the fear of any serious injury before the beginning of the season. However, Trossard could still be given a day off to take rest and recover properly. That could see Kai Havertz or record-signing Declan Rice get their first start for the Gunners.
  • Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey have flown in and joined the rest of the squad, so they could also get some playing time. However, Reiss Nelson is still recovering from his toe injury, which could take two more weeks. Oleksandr Zinchenko also remained sidelined in their MLS All-Star thrashing due to calf issues and he’s still recovering.

Manchester United Team News

  • Man United lined up a relatively young squad against Lyon, but the youngsters were able to provide him with a win. However, now the coach has a plethora of international players back in his squad for their trip to the United States. The names include regular first-team players, like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Bruno Fernandes.
  • It’s unclear whether the internationals are fit enough to play. If Fernandes plays, this will be his first match as the club captain as he has recently been named the new captain after Harry Maguire was stripped of the armband. Additionally, Donny van de Beek might get his starting place instead of Fred who has stayed back due to personal reasons.
  • Along with Fred, Tyrell Malacia and Rhys Bennett will miss another match. They remain sidelined due to their respective injuries. Dean Henderson who has been linked with a permanent move to Nottingham Forest, has made the trip. However, so has Man United’s newest addition Andre Onana. It’s unclear if he will be considered fit enough, but he could make his non-competitive debut.
