The #10 of Barcelona was called the heir of Lionel Messi. But, it was never going to be easy to replace the GOAT of the modern footballing world. Fati has made 24 appearances for the Blaugrana this season, but most of them have come from the bench.
This has alerted the likes of clubs like Manchester United to try to land the forward. Agent Jorge Mendes is thought to have already offered Fati to Europe’s major clubs. It has always been Fati’s ambition to stay and fight for his spot in Barcelona. His father thinks otherwise though. Bori Fati did not hold back on his words after holding showdown talks with Barcelona chiefs at the start of the week.

Bori Fati’s words on Ansu Fati situation
Ansu’s dad believes that the #10 must quit Barcelona if he wants to progress in his career. He also questioned why Xavi was not giving opportunities to his son. Bori said, ‘It bothers me how they are treating Ansu. They give him one, two, three minutes. I am very disappointed, he deserved much more. Why doesn’t Xavi play him more? I don’t have an answer. We’re talking about the No. 10 of Barcelona.’
He continued, ‘I’m angry, it’s true. As a father I see Ansu for a short time and it p****s me off but I think as a father, not as a coach. I have told Ansu it is better for him to have a change of scenery but he doesn’t agree, he wants to stay and succeed at Barcelona. I am not going to criticise Real Madrid because life takes many turns and you never know what can happen.’
He also compared how Fati was getting chances even when the likes of Messi and Suarez were at the club. He said, ‘Seeing Ansu play so little makes you a little angry. I tell them that we deserve much more. Ansu when he played before getting injured, there was Messi, [Luis] Suarez, [Ousmane] Dembele, [Antoine] Griezmann.’
He added, ‘At Barca they tell me that they bet a lot on Ansu, they tell me that clearly. When I sat down with Jorge Mendes [his representative], the first thing he told me was that Ansu wants to stay and will continue playing for Barcelona. But I, as a father, thought otherwise, and Ansu doesn’t agree with that.’
Even though Ansu Fati wants to stay in Barcelona and fight for his place, it will not be easy. Lewandowski, Dembele, and Raphinha are prioritized over him. Ferran Torres is on the sidelines too and with rumors of Lionel Messi coming back in the summer, Ansu will have to give a long, hard thought to what he wants to do in the summer.
