Man United hold TALKS with Inter before presenting new OFFER for Andre Onana

Manchester United have held talks with Internazionale in the last 24 hours regarding Andre Onana's transfer to England.

Andre Onana Transfer: Manchester United have had new talks with Internazionale regarding the transfer of the goalkeeper Andre Onana. David De Gea has been inconsistent under the bars for Man United last season. He has not been able to impress the boss Erik Ten Hag. Hence, there is a possibility that he will leave the club this summer transfer window. Onana is the Red Devils’ primary choice for replacement. Internazionale want €50-55 million for the player and Man United could go for it.

Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag holds Andre Onana in high honour. Following David De Gea’s performance in the last season, he seems to be determined to bring in the Cameroonian goalkeeper. Onana joined Inter at the beginning of last season and soon became their first-choice goalkeeper, taking over from Samir Handanovic. He was a key part in Inter reaching the Champions League final last season. He played under Ten Hag at Ajax and left the club when Ten Hag left for Man United.

It would be a reunion for Onana and Ten Hag if Man United manage to bring in Onana. However, Internazionale will not wield easily during negotiations. They want at least €50-55 plus add ons for the goalkeeper. As per reports, the Red Devils presented an informal bid of €40 million to the Nerazzurri which was then rejected. They will not agree on anything less than €50-55 million. Apparently, the two held direct talks in the last 24 hours regarding the matter.

However, Man United have another matter at hand which they want to solve before they move forward with Onana’s transfer. They want to clear the matter with their current first choice goalkeeper David De Gea which has become increasingly complex in the last few days. David De Gea’s performance was much worse than what is expected of him. Additionally, he is still being paid over €435,000 per week. As a result, he is also the highest-paid player of Man United at this moment.

Andre Onana Transfer talks advance as Premier League club Manchester United have recently held direct talks with Serie A club Internazionale

David De Gea’s contract with Man United is ending on June 30, this year. He has not signed a new contract with them. Additionally, it seems like neither De Gea nor Man United want to continue beyond this transfer window. However, as per reports, they still presented an offer to De Gea with a substantial pay cut and he would be playing as the second-choice goalkeeper. Reportedly, De Gea even signed the deal with them. Apparently, Man United backed away from the contract and presented him with another deal with lesser payment.

However, Man United have come out and denied such claims. They have said that De Gea did not sign any contract with them. However, the issue still remains as to whether De Gea will remain at the club or not. With only a day to go, there is a greater chance that he will leave. However, there have been rumours that he could sign a contract after June 30. Man United are still looking to bring in Andre Onana who will probably be playing as their first choice goalkeeper.
