“We have 1 training ground for 8teams & now the teams of group B have to travel 2hrs(for PC) to a city that we won’t play in. Why couldn’t we have it in Manjeri? It’s a complate waste of time.” Said Constantine.
Manjeri does not have any decent hotels where the teams can stay, and the facilities there are only suitable for seven-a-side games. The practise fields are likewise without floodlighting. The training facility (Kottappadi Stadium) made available to clubs in Group B lacks floodlighting. EastBengal FC was given an evening training session.
In order to exercise, they had to borrow halogen lights from a wedding site. Coach Stephen Constantine was not the only one to criticise the training facilities Kerala provided for the Super Cup teams; senior team manager Bishes Kumar Panda also did.

It’s unfortunate that Kerala’s training facilities are causing problems for every team. The administration of Mohun Bagan made the decision to practise at home after conducting earlier investigation. Today, the squad is on the move. At the Hero Super Cup tomorrow, Bagan will compete against Gokulam.
Kerala can provide sufficient training facilities if the Super Cup is held in venues all throughout the state. Only the cities of Manjeri and Kozhikode host the Super Cup. Artificial fields are present everywhere in both locations, however there are relatively few natural grass fields available.
