League of Legends is a 5v5 MOBA game where the endgame is to kill the enemy champions and destroy their base. Still, apart from fighting the enemy team directly, there are a lot of objectives on the map that can help you with this. Today we will focus on some particular monsters in the Summoner’s Rift map that can provide you with buffs that can help you to win the game. You should learn a bit about them if you are planning to play League of Legends. League of Legends Jungle, League of Legends Buffs, League of Legends Baron, League of Legends Dragons, League of Legends Hextech Dragon, League of Legends Chemtech Dragon

League of Legends: Jungle Buffs

There are two different kinds of buff monsters present in the jungle of the Summoner’s Rift. Both of them are suitable for different roles in the game. If you kill a champion that has either one or both of these buffs, you get them on your own champion for their remaining duration. These buffs are:

  • Red Brambleback (Red Buff): Basic attacks slow enemies for 3 seconds, and burn them for 2 seconds, which deals true damage over 3 instances over the duration. The first instance of damage occurs on-hit and the second and third instances occur each second thereafter. Subsequent attacks against a burning target will only refresh its duration. While out of combat against enemy champions or monsters, your champion will heal some percent of their maximum health every 5 seconds.
  • Blue Sentinel (Blue Buff): Grants 10 Ability Haste [Cooldown Reduction]. If your champion uses mana or energy, restores 5 plus 1% of the maximum of each per second.

League of Legends: Rift Herald Buff

The Rift Heralds are major monster buffs that shape the dynamics of the early game. There are two such monsters that appear and killing them will give the champion an Eye of Herald. The first one spawns in the 8th minute while the second one will spawn 6 minutes later if the first one is killed before 13:45 minutes. Champions get:

  • The champion holding the Eye of the Herald Buff will have half the recall time.
  • The champion can use the Eye of the Herald to call it in any of the three lanes. The Rift Herald appears with the objective to clear the lanes and push the turrets.
  • Champions need to use the Eye of the Herald within 6 minutes or they will lose it.

League of Legends: Baron Nashor Buff

Baron Nashor is the most powerful monster in the game and it appears in the Baron Pit on the map. It first appears in 20 minutes within the game and slaying this large will provide the players alive within the team with the “Hand of the Baron” buff for 3 minutes.  This buff grants:

  • It increases the Attack Damage of all champions.
  • It increases the Ability Power of all champions.
  • It empowered the Recall of every champion, making it last for half its duration.
  • It provides empowered minions: Minions get increased attack range, damage, and speed by staying near champions with Baron Buff. They also cannot be slowed.

League of Legends: Dragon Buffs

There are six different dragons in League of Legends and in each game, they summon randomly. While killing a normal dragon gives a slight buff, by killing the four dragons continuously, teams can garner an additional Dragon soul which corresponds to the last dragon killed. There is also an Elder Dragon that spawns at the late-game stage. Here are all the details of the dragon buffs in-game.

  • Cloud Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Gain additional slow resist and out-of-combat bonus movement speed (based on the number of Cloud Dragons killed) .
    • Soul Buff – Gain bonus movement speed after casting your ultimate ability.
  • Infernal Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Gain attack damage and ability power (based on the number of Infernal Dragons killed).
    • Soul Buff – Damaging basic attacks and abilities trigger an explosion around the target, dealing adaptive damage to the target and nearby enemies.
  • Mountain Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Gain armor and magic resistance (based on the number of Mountain Dragons killed).
    • Soul Buff – After not taking damage for 5 seconds, gain a shield.
  • Ocean Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Restore missing health every 5 seconds (based on the number of Ocean Dragons killed).
    • Soul Buff – Dealing damage to enemies heals you and restores mana over 4 seconds. Damage to minions and monsters regenerates with 30% effectiveness.

  • Chemtech Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Gain increased damage against enemies with greater current health than you (based on the number of Chemtech Dragons killed).
    • Soul Buff – Upon taking lethal damage, enter resurrection for 2 seconds, during which you are invulnerable, untargetable, and unable to act. Then, you heal 80% base health, become a zombie for up to 4 seconds, gain decaying bonus movement speed, reduce outgoing and incoming damage by 40%, and take true damage equal to a percentage of the amount of health started with that increases every 0.25 seconds.
  • Hextech Dragon:
    • Normal Buff – Gain ability haste [Cooldown Reduction] and bonus attack speed (based on the number of Hextech Dragons killed).
    • Soul Buff – Dealing damage to an enemy with basic attacks or ability damage causes them to be struck with electricity, dealing bonus true damage and slowing them by decaying over 2 seconds, while chaining the effect to up to 3 enemies near the primary target. The slow can stack from multiple sources and the decay rate is decreased against ranged champions.
  • Elder Dragon:
    • Damaging enemies causes them to burn with true damage over 2.25 seconds, with the first tick occurring after 0.25 seconds and the others after 1 second each.
    • Damaging an enemy champion below 20% of their maximum health blasts them with Elder Immolation that executes them, destroying all shields before dealing 100% of their current health as true damage.

These are all the buffs that you need to keep in mind if you are playing League of Legends. Many crucial team fights occur near these buff objectives as they can provide a significant advantage, especially in the late game.
