Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village, developed by Capcom, is a first-person survival horror game. While the Resident Evil series has never let thrill-seekers down, this edition of the Resident Evil has brought in gamers in hoards. From the Victorian-styled environment and architecture, to the struggles of the protagonist Ethan Hunt who is trying to rescue his daughter, the game has a good mix of action and horror. And one of the main attractions this year is the newly added character of Lady Dimitrescu, which not only adds elements of horror but also improves the overall spookiness of the game.

Outlast is the first installment of the Outlast series, a single-player first-person survival horror game. The main character is that of a journalist, navigating through a psychiatric hospital. Players have to play stealthily to remain undetected from the homicidal patients that have taken over the hospital. A noteworthy feature in the game is the use of a night-vision camcorder which players can use to collect notes all along their survival journey. Perfectly timed jumpscares and the various survival strategies that players can use to free themselves act as an added bonus to the flavor of horror and survival.
F.E.A.R. 3

As a first-person shooter survival game, F.E.A.R. 3 is equivocally renowned as one of the best horror-cum-survival games. Developed by Day 1 Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, it is a sequel to F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and the only F.E.A.R game to have offline multiplayer and co-op(cooperative) modes. Players control the main character, the Point Man from a first-perspective pov, who can carry two weapons at a time and can replenish ammo from dead soldiers and weapon crates. The in-game graphics are realistic and it is a surprisingly solid and satisfying shooter game, which gets even better if played in co-op.
