Asmongold defends Pokimane while her haters want her banned from Twitch over past video clips- After Twitch upgraded Jidion’s ban from 14 days to a permanent one, hell broke loose among his supporters only to add to Pokimane’s troubles. As haters called out to ban Poki following the circulation of an old clip that catches glimpses of her using racial slurs, streamer Asmongold hit out at the troublemakers for unnecessarily dragging her in a duel.
With the hate raid that was launched by Jidion against Pokimane, Twitch was quick enough to take action against him. As Jidion claims the permaban was too harsh for someone who was a first-time defaulter, he requested his fans to appeal to Twitch to revoke his ban.
But he didn’t stop at that. He went about reacting to an old video clip of Pokimane, where she uses the n-word on stream. This has made people ask Twitch to ban her for using abusive slurs. On the other hand, Asmongold is of the opinion that Poki’s haters simply want to take revenge on her by digging up and getting offended by an old video clip.

“When did Pokimane see a black person and call them the n-word? Like, when did that happen? Nine years ago?” said Asmon. “I said the n-word back then all the time. I think a lot of your favorite content creators did.”
He further explained how people’s perceptions change over years and they mostly shouldn’t be held accountable for their teenage years. “I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I’m just saying that this is what it was. This JiDion guy, what was he doing eight or nine years ago? If you have a window into everybody’s life, I think you’re going to find a number of really bad things.”
“There are a few exceptions to this. But if you’re talking about something that happened over five years ago – especially with somebody who is a young adult – I think it’s kind of unfair to criticize them”, he added.
He also claimed people are using this to justify their hate towards Poki. “It has nothing to do with them being upset about what she said. It has everything to do with them just simply not liking her and working backward to rationalize why it’s okay not to like her.”
Moreover, Asmongold admits that if someone intentionally harasses others like what Jidion did to Pokimane, then it’s totally unacceptable.
