However, in a recent chat with the popular esports creator Jake Lucky, the streamer revealed an incident with NICKMERCS that really helped him towards the beginning of his career as a Fortnite player. SypherPK became prominent within the Fortnite community after winning a tournament back in 2019. He rose to fame with the help of his guide videos about Fortnite, and has garnered quite the community so far.
SypherPK shares how NICKMERCS helped him at the beginning of his Fortnite career
SypherPK, in a recent chat with Jake Lucky, ended up speaking about his relationship with NICKMERCS. The duo seem to share a pretty strong bond and grew closer over the years.
However, speaking about how they met, SypherPK revealed that they first started interacting when he was still struggling with just about 300 viewers per stream.
“I only had about three to four hundred viewers at the time. But, you know what? Three, four hundred viewers at 6 AM, he was able to see me at the top of the list, because no one’s really streaming at that time. That’s how he found me.”

He proceeded to explain how NICKMERCS, who had a bigger fanbase than him at the time, used his platform to promote SypherPK, urging his viewers to watch him since “he knows what he’s talking about.”
Sypher then reached out to NICKMERCS for a Fortnite collaboration, where they agreed that they would practice together and play a tournament. However, owing to the difference in their schedules, they never ended up making it to any of the practice sessions and played with each other for the first time during the tournament itself.
Naturally, they lost the first round of the tournament. However, they doubled down and won the remaining rounds, which led them straight to victory.
“$5000, first win. We both had a combined, like, 50,000 viewers, and after that, we were like, these are the Fortnite guys.”
SypherPK’s Fortnite victory with NICKMERCS propelled him to fame within the game’s community and even forged a strong friendship between both the streamers, one that is going strong even four years after the tournament.
