IPL 2024 season wont be held overseas as IPL chairman Arun Singh Thakur is confident of conducting the T20 league in India

2024 will be important for India not only in cricket but also politically. With Lok Sabha Elections set to likely take place in April or May, chances are that the IPL 2024 season may be shifted outside India like it happened during the 2009 election of IPL. However, IPL chairman Arun Singh Thakur is optimistic about conducting the IPL in India itself.

According to reports in Jagran News, Arun Thakur said Lok Sabha Elections will not have a bearing on IPL. For the unversed, the T20 league is the richest in the world and generates a huge amount of money for its stakeholders and BCCI. In fact, the Board postponed the World Cup to accommodate IPL during April and May this year.

The chances of hosting IPL 2024 in India are highly possible as BCCI will have enough time to plan for the venues. If IPL 2024 won’t be conducted in India, then BCCI has South Africa and UAE as the option to fall back on.
