Tommy Sugiarto defeated Sameer 21-17 in the first game of the quarterfinal match here at Court 2. In the second game, the Indian shuttler retired midway to end his campaign.

Srikanth no match for Momota: Kento Momota beat Kidambi Srikanth: Like Lakshya Sen, Srikanth Kidambi run at the Denmark Open also ended on Thursday. Former World No. 1 was easily defeated by current No. 1 player in world Kento Momota of Japan. Momota defeated Srikanth Kidambi 23-21, 21-9.

Srikant had defeated out of form B Sai Praneeth 21-14, 21-11 in straight sets on Tuesday but was no match for Momota in the Pre-Quarters. In the first game Srikanth put up good fight but once that was lost 21-23, it was a one way traffic for the Japanese. In the end Momota won 23-21, 21-9.

Momota completely outclassed Srikanth Kidambi in the second game. He won it by a margin of 21-9 by channelling his top-ranked shuttler. Momota held on to the game points while the Indian counterpart completely blanked.

Denmark Open LIVE: Kidambi Srikanth put an impressive show against Kento Momota but lost his edge towards the final few minutes that cost him Game 1. He looked rock solid for a majority but Momota passed an uphill task to match the former World No.1. At one point, he was leading 20-14 but couldn’t hold on to it.
