The Bangladeshi pacer played only two games in IPL 2023 season and picked up only one wicket. The left-arm pacer was overlooked in the playing XI, due to DC beefing up their batting order with foreign players. However, the Bangladeshi pacer was supposed to play a crucial role on slow FerozShah Kotla at track. With Mustafizaur unavailable, the onus will be on Anrich Nortje and Ishant Sharma to provide breakthroughs against a powerful-looking RCB batting lineup.
Ishant Sharma is in good form and is the bowler in IPL 2023 to not concede a six. The veteran also managed to hold his nerves in the closing stages against GT and enabled DC to clinch a low-scoring thriller. Ishant is expected to play a vital role along with Nortje. DC cannot afford any more slipups as they have already lost six games. They need to win the remaining five matches to keep their playoff hopes alive.
On the other hand, RCB are placed fifth on the points table with five wins from nine games. RCB beat DC in their previous match, and have won 19 games against DC in the IPL’s 15-year history.
