The story does not end there. It is also important to mention here that the women’s boxing head coach Bhaskar Bhat also moved out of his room at the village to accommodate Gurung.
The major concern is the lone doctor’s accreditation being cancelled at the eleventh hour. Team doctor’s are very important in a sport like boxing, where players can get seriously injured.
With Singh being given a P category, it is a big problem. It means that the doctor does not have full-time access to the boxers at the Games village. Besides, there is no such full-time access at the field of play during the competition as well, which is a concern. What happens when a player gets seriously injured? Who will take the all-important medical calls?
Even more so, having the P category also means he does not have proper transport to go back to the hotel. As per Times of India report, the doctor will now need a daily pass to come to the venue. He will have to sit like a normal spectator amongst the crowd in the venue.

It is important to note that these steps had to be taken by the IOA after a tweet from Lovlina, which went viral. In a media post, she claimed that the she was mentally harassed with Gurung not having added to the squad.
So the tweet got the needed attention and amidst the political pressure, all these changes were made to keep Lovlina happy.
