Theeskshana and Pathirana missed the initial few games for CSK owing to the New Zealand series. The tour concluded on April 9, and the duo jetted off to India to join the rest of CSK squad. With Chahar nursing a hamstring injury, and Stokes suffering a toe injury, Theekshana and Pathirana can fill the void left in the bowling department.
IPL 2023: CSK look to make two on two wins in Chepauk against resurgent Royals
CSK have played three games and have won two matches against MI and LSG. Their only loss came against GT. The victory against LSG was memorable in many ways as the Dhoni-led side had a happy homecoming at Chepauk. Their beloved Thala entertained the crowd by smoking two huge sixes in the last over. The Chepauk was immersed in yellow, and CSK made the occasion count by winning a close game against LSG.
Now, the Four-time IPL champions would be eager to repeat the same dose against the Royals. The Sanju Samson-led side have also played three games, winning two and losing one. RR are coming off a thumping win against DC, with their batting firing on all cylinders. A win for either of CSK and RR will give the side a nice momentum heading into the tournament.
