Zimbabwe Tour of Sri Lanka: Wanindu Hasaranga rested – Sri Lanka’s squad will see a massive overhaul for the Zimbabwe series with multiple players unavilable. Wanindu Hasaranga has been rested while Avishka Fernando has been ruled out due to Covid-19. In their place, three cricketers have received maiden call-up.
Among the missing players, Dhananjaya de Silva will be unavailable as he is on paternity leave while Lahiru Kumara and Kalana Perera have been ruled out due to failed fitness test. However, Kusal Mendis, who was suspended for breaching Covid bio-bubble during England tour, has returned to the squad. SLC recently lifted the suspension.

Sri Lanka will play three ODIs as part of ICC ODI Super League from January 16. The second and third ODIs will be played on 18 and 21. All matches will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele.

Standby players: Ashen Bandara, Pulina Tharanga, Nimesh Vimukthi, Ashian Daniel, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando have been named as standby players.
