A piece of massive news made the headlines a couple of days ago that reportedly Sarfaraz Khan leaked dressing room talks to the media. Interestingly, the news was brought to light by India Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir. But now former India star Harbhajan Singh has claimed that Gambhir should have done so and brought out that the youngster had leaked the news to the media.
The India Cricket Team has been hit with massive controversies after the devastating 3-1 loss away in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Then, it was reported that someone from the Indian team had been leaking dressing room talks and rifts to the media. Later on, as per a report by News 24, Gambhir identified the leak as Sarfaraz Khan.
Harbhajan Singh reprimands Gautam Gambhir
“Whatever has happened in the last few days, be it in Australia or after that…there are wins and losses on the field. But every day new stories should not come out of the dressing room. Today, there was a report that coach saab (Gautam Gambhir) has said Sarfaraz Khan leaked dressing room talks to media. If coach saab has said this, he should not have done so. If Sarfaraz Khan had done this in Australia, you are the coach, you could have talked to him then. He is a player, make him understand. He is a youngster, he will play for India in the future,” Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel.
Harbhajan Singh was not happy with the proceedings. He claimed that if Gautam Gambhir had disclosed that Sarfaraz was the leak, then he shouldn’t done so. He also argued that Gambhir could have spoken with him directly if the incident happened in Australia.
The spin veteran also pointed out that Sarfaraz Khan is a very young player and has his entire career ahead of him. He also claimed that the Mumbai batter will play in the future for India. Talking about the matter, he said both incidents of team talks being leaked and the leak being identified to the public is wrong.
“Being a senior player, it’s our duty to give wisdom to youngsters. If he (Gambhir) has said this, that Sarfaraz has leaked the news, and if the player has indeed done so, then it’s wrong. Dressing room talks should not come out in the open. Gautam Gambhir is new to this job, he should be given time. The players should also get time to gel with the new system,” Harbhajan added.

Harbhajan Singh was extremely unhappy that rumors and important team news were coming out in the public. He recounted, that coordination between the players needs to increase. Furthermore, he cited that back in 2005-06 season under Greg Chappell the same thing happened.
“You should sit and solve the matter. Last six-eight months there is lot of rumours in Indian cricket. It’s very important that there is coordination among players and coach. In the 2005-06 season, during Greg Chappell era the same thing happened. “Who’s is doing this and why? You should not talk bad about your own family members in the open, that way your family’s name gets tarnished,” Harbhajan Singh concluded.
