The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season has reached its business end. Just four matches remain. UP Warriorz and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women have been eliminated. Mumbai Indians (MI) Women, Gujarat Giants (GG) Women, and Delhi Capitals (DC) Women have qualified for the Playoffs. However, one mustn’t forget that the team that tops the points table gets a direct qualification for the WPL Final. This means that MI, GG, and DD are still in battle.
WPL 2025: Remaining Group Stage matches
MI-W vs GG-W: March 10 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
MI-W vs RCB-W: March 11 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
WPL 2025 Final Qualification Scenario
Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals have been holding the top spot on the points table for some time now. They were the first to qualify for the WPL 2025 Playoffs but may not finish atop. Capitals have played all of their matches. They are therefore dependent on others. GG and MI can both displace them with a victory.

The next match is between Mumbai and Gujarat; that match could very well decide who qualifies for the WPL 2025 Final. Whoever wins could displace DC. But Harmanpreet Kaur’s MI has the upper hand. They are the only team who will play two matches.
Let’s assume MI lost to GG on March 10; they can still have a chance to make the WPL 2025 Final with a direct qualification. But that won’t be the case for GG. They lose, and they will have to play in the Eliminator on March 13. MI has two shots to end on top. This could mean that the MI vs. RCB match, the final group stage game of the tournament, will decide who qualifies for the final directly.
