Shane Watson picks Yadav because of his incredible consistency – The former Australia all-rounder feels Yadav should be in the World XI because of his incredible consistency. Since making his debut in T02I format in 2021, the right-hand batter has amassed 672 runs in just 21 innings. With 805 points, Yadav is closing Azam and Waston feels he can dominate any attack.

“Second one is Suryakumar Yadav,” Watson noted. “He’s batting incredibly well, and he would be my No.2 pick.

“But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if (India team-mate) KL Rahul explodes in the T20 World Cup in Australia because he’s got the game to dominate in these conditions in Australia.”

World T20I XI: Watson names two Pakistani players – Azam and Shaheen are undoubtedly two of the best players in the T20 format currently. The duo have been instrumental in the team doing well in the shortest format of the game. For Watson, it was a no-brainer to pick both the players in his World T20I XI.

“First one I’d pick would be Babar Azam,” Watson said. “He’s the No.1 T20I batsman in the world, and he just knows how to dominate.

“It’s like he’s not even taking any risks, and he scores incredibly quickly against the best bowlers in the world.

Although Shaheen has been ruled out of the Asia Cup, he will mostly be fit in time for the T20 World Cup 2022. The cricketer-turned expert feels the left-arm pacer’s wicket-taking abilities are superb.

“We saw in the last men’s T20 World Cup his ability to be able to get the best batsmen out with that brand new ball. I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t really dominate in Australian conditions, with the ball swinging around and fast, bouncy wickets.

Watson picked Buttler and Warner as the other two picks due to their six-hitting abilities in the T20 format. Both players can be destructive on any given day.
