The opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium as Bangladesh Women and Scotland Women face each other on October 3 (Wednesday). The second match of the Women’s T20 World Cup will also be played on the same venue. Ahead of the Bangladesh Women vs Scotland Women match, check out the Sharjah Cricket Stadium pitch report.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium pitch report

The pitch at Sharjah Cricket Stadium will offer minimal seam movement to the fast bowlers. Meanwhile, the batters will exploit the track’s even pace and bounce to add some valuable runs to their tallies. However, once the ball gets older, it will be challenging to score runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The spinners will get significant turn and use it in their favour to make things tough for the batters in the middle overs.

Meanwhile, the pacers will consider bowling more cutters and slow balls, with the ball expected to hold up a bit after pitching around the hard length. The skipper winning the toss might want to have a bowl first and chase the total later on in the match.

Women’s T20 World Cup start date

After warm-up matches from 28 September to 1 October conclude, the group action begins on 3 October. As mentioned above, Group B foes Bangladesh and Scotland meet in the first of two matches on day one, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka facing off in the second.

With group play concluding on 15 October, attention turns to the semifinals across 17 and 18 October. The winners of semifinals one and two meet to battle for the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy on 20 October.
