Why is Mitchell Santner not playing in today’s MI vs LSG IPL 2025 match?

Additionally, Corbin Bosch, the South African all-rounder, is set to make his IPL debut.

Mitchell Santner, the versatile all-rounder for the Mumbai Indians (MI), will not be participating in today’s IPL 2025 match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to a minor injury concern. The team management has confirmed that Santner is dealing with a slight niggle, which has prompted them to rest him as a precautionary measure.

This decision ensures that he has adequate time to recover and avoid aggravating the injury, especially with the playoffs approaching.

In Santner’s absence, MI has made two key changes to their playing XI. Karn Sharma, the experienced leg-spinner, makes his return to the squad, adding depth to the spin department. “I got two changes. Karn comes back. Mitch (Santner) misses out. He got a little niggle on his injury. In place of him, Bosch makes his debut,” said Pandya at the toss.

Corbin Bosch makes IPL debut

Additionally, Corbin Bosch, the South African all-rounder, is set to make his IPL debut. Bosch’s inclusion brings a fresh dynamic to the team, as he is known for his ability to contribute with both bat and ball. His debut is highly anticipated, and fans are eager to see how he performs under the pressure of a high-stakes IPL match.

Santner’s absence is undoubtedly a setback for MI, as he has been a consistent performer with both bat and ball this season. His ability to control the middle overs with his left-arm spin and contribute valuable runs lower down the order has been instrumental in MI’s recent success. However, the team remains confident in their replacements and will look to maintain their winning momentum.
