Why Deepak Chahar is not playing in India vs Australia 5th T20?

Deepak Chahar has flown back home because of a medical emergency,” said Suryakumar ahead of the India vs Australia 5th T20.

India and Australia are facing each other in the final T20I match being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, all-rounder Deepak Chahar was removed from the playing XI owing to a medical emergency. Deepak Chahar made a comeback to the Indian side in IND vs AUS 4th T20 after a decent haul. However, he could not perform well with the ball and he has now been dropped for the India vs Australia 5th T20.

Had medical emergency: SKY on Chahar

“We would have loved to bowl first. I told the team to not change anything, another opportunity to play in front of an amazing crowd, so just go and enjoy (is the message to the team). The way batting unit has delivered, just told them to believe and execute. Arshdeep comes in for Deepak Chahar. He (Deepak) has flown back home because of a medical emergency,” said Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.

As mentioned above, Deepak Chahar could not make much of an impact during his last outing in IND vs AUS T20. The right-arm pacer went on to give away 44 runs in his allotted quota. However, he also managed to get two wickets to his name including Tim David and Matthew Short.

Before his previous outing, the 31-year-old played his last T20I match way back in October 2022. Earlier, Chahar also made a return in the last IPL edition. However, he could not play the full tournament and was ruled out of the IPL. Speaking about his T20I numbers, he has played 25 matches and scalped 31 wickets at a decent economy rate of 8.30. Chahar also has a five-wicket haul to his name in the 20-over format.
