Late on April 24, a video started doing rounds on social media, where a Delhi Capitals player was seen stretched into an ambulance.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) have been rocked before their match against the Punjab Kings on April 25. On the eve of the game, a young DC player suffered a freak accident during a practice session. In a video going viral, a player was seen getting stretchered off the field.

Delhi Capitals’ player suffers a face injury

The incident occurred at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as an ambulance was called on the ground. The medical team could be seen tending to the player. The visuals were gruesome. It seemed the player was hit on the face, and blood was pouring out of his nose.

The identity of the player remained unknown. Sleuths on the internet believe it was a net bowler. Considering the face injury, it made sense, since a batter could’ve struck the ball back towards a bowler. However, some believed that the player injured was Sahil Parakh.

A report by MyKhel confirms that it was indeed Parakh who was struck on the face in the nets. As witnessed in the video, the DC medical staff came to his assistance immediately, and he was taken to a hospital for further treatment. Parakh will undergo scans, the results of which are awaited.

Who is Sahil Parakh?

For those wondering who Sahil Parakh is, the player happens to be a batter and part-time bowler. Born in 2007, he is just 18 years old. Parakh had come into prominence during the Maharashtra Premier League 2025 season in June. He played 8 matches for the Eagle Nashik Titans, scoring 202 runs at a strike rate of 177.19.

This led to his debut for Maharashtra in December. Just 10 days before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, Parakh played his maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), scoring 18 off 14. He played at number three, the same position where he’d batted in the Maharashtra Premier League.

Impressed with his performance, DC picked up Parakh at his base price of INR 30 lakh. He’s been learning from the best since joining the DC camp, and just 3 days ago, the franchise uploaded a video of him getting batting tips from KL Rahul.
