Who is Shweta Sehrawat? UP Warriorz youngster smashes 242 off 150 balls ahead of WPL 2024

Shweta Sehrawat was purchased at a cost of INR 40 lakhs by UP Warriorz in Women's Premier League.

Shweta Sehrawat was the vice-captain of the U19 India Women’s World Cup winning squad this year. She is also a part of the UP Warriorz camp in Women’s Premier League (WPL). On Saturday (January 6), Shweta Sehrawat scored a mammoth 242 runs in just 150 balls including 31 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to her effort, Delhi scored a massive 455 runs in their 50 overs in a List-A game against Nagaland. Meanwhile, the opposition got out for just 55 runs in their chase.

Sehrawat topped UI9 WC runs list

While all eyes were on Shafali Verma at the Under-19 World Cup, Shefali Sehrawat quietly settled in before eventually stealing the limelight from her senior colleague. The right-handed batter finished as the top-run scorer as the Women in Blue won the historic U19 Women’s World Cup title.

UP Warriorz bagged Shweta for INR 40 lakhs

Thanks to her antics in the World Cup, Shweta Sehrawat managed to bag a deal of INR 40 lakhs. The youngster got limited opportunities with the bat in the first edition. However, she was retained by the franchise ahead of WPL 2024. Sehrawat will look to continue her good run with the bat and hope that she gets more chances to open the innings for UP Warriorz unlike last year.
