When was Mohammed Shami’s last match for team India?

Shami will be eyeing his spot for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after performing well against England in the T20 series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced team India’s squad for the upcoming IND vs ENG white-ball series. One of the notable inclusions in team India’s squad was Mohammed Shami. To note, Mohammed Shami’s last match for team India was back in the 2023 World Cup against New Zealand.

Mohd. Shami’s last match for India

Mohammed Shami will make a comeback in India colours during the five-match T20 matches against England that begins on January 22 in Kolkata. Shami last played for India in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, after which he was sidelined because of an ankle injury that needed surgery.

The 34-year-old made a return to cricket for the Ranji Trophy and also played in the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is playing the on-going 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, he missed the bus for India’s disastrous tour of Australia because of swelling of the knee.
