Since Hardik started captaining an IPL side, famously with GT from the 2022 season, he has faced CSK 5 times and has won 3 out of them. The 2022 season saw GT complete a double over Chennai and they would go on to beat them in the opening match of IPL 2023.
CSK would bounce back in the remaining two matches against GT last season, including the final. But they were close matches in the end with the IPL 2023 final being won off the last ball.
