The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has arranged a special air show with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as the ICC Champions Trophy begins with the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Pakistani media reported that the PCB has announced that President Asif Ali Zardari will be the Chief Guest at the tournament’s opening ceremony on Wednesday, which will feature a PAF ‘Sher Dil’ air display. The board also recently invited members of Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy-winning team to another celebration.
“Pakistan is fully prepared to host the Champions Trophy, International standard facilities will be provided to all the teams. Fans in the stadiums will be given all possible facilities. Holding an ICC tournament after 29 years is a matter of pride for Pakistan and we will further raise the honour of the country by successfully hosting the Champions Trophy,” said PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi as quoted by NDTV.

The air show is expected to take place just before the toss, lasting 5-10 minutes, allowing the crowd to witness the grandeur of the event. It will serve as the official opener for the Champions Trophy 2025.
