On Wednesday, the Australian spinner reposted the interview article and humorously said that both cricketers will compete to pick the catch up venue after the retirement but there is still few years left.

“I’m sure the competition to pick the best venue for this catch up will be strong, but we both have a few good years left in us yet @ashwinravi99”, Lyon posted on X.

The Indian veteran then gave a brilliant response which left the cricket fans in admiration.

We can do a home and away for the catch up too. Sydney – your choice
Chennai – Soup with Muthu and chaat at OSB ( West Mambalam ).
Go well tomorrow and see u soon”
, Ashwin replied.

Earlier, Lyon paid a heartwarming tribute to Ashwin and revealed how the latter unofficially worked as ‘coach’ for him throughout his career.

“I’ve definitely learned from him. There’s an opportunity to learn from the people you play against, and without knowing it he’s probably been one of my biggest coaches in a way”, Lyon said in the interview.

Notably, Ashwin and Lyon are among the most decorated bowlers of the modern cricket. While Lyon is just 4 wickets away from 500-wicket mark, Ashwin currently sits at 489 Test wickets.
