The video of Tom Curran's altercation with the umpire before the Big Bash League (BBL) match has now been released.

Sydney Sixers all-rounder Tom Curran was handed a four-match ban for intimidating an umpire before a Big Bash League game on Thursday.

The England international was charged under the Cricket Australia Code of Conduct for his altercation with the official ahead of the Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes match on December 11.

The video of the incident has now been released. In the video, Curran can be seen running onto part of the pitch during practice. The 28-year-old was instructed by the umpire to not run on the pitch.

However, Curran avoided umpire’s warning and moved to the opposite end to complete another practice run-up. This time, the match official positioned himself next to the stumps, blocking the player from approaching the pitch.

Curran, however, shockingly attempted to perform a practice run up and run at pace straight towards the umpire which forced the latter to step aside to avoid the risk of collision.

Sixers head Rachael Haynes said the team and the player would appeal the sanction.
