Indian captains have not had a lot of luck with tosses in recent times. Captain Shubman Gill has lost 9 of his 10 tosses as captain. Rohit Sharma did not win a toss since the 2023 World Cup.
That rut has hit Suryakumar Yadav as well. India’s T20 captain did not win a single toss during India’s Asia Cup win. He lost the toss in the first two games before Sunday.
So naturally, when Surya called it right on Sunday, there was jubiliation.
