India Cricket Team players finished their two-day practice match in Barbados ahead of the first Test against West Indies

India Cricket Team: Rohit Sharma & Co showed kindness and humility as they signed autographs and posed selfies for local players and fans in Barbados after their two-day practice game. In the video shared by BCCI, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ruturaj Gaikwad happily signed a few autographs and interacted with local players. Ashwin was seen sharing a few tips for off-spin with a local Barbados player.

In a beautiful gesture, Mohammed Siraj also presented a bat and a pair of shoes to one of the local players. Siraj said it was his way of expressing thank you as the local players helped him and team India a lot during the practice game.

IND vs WI: practice match over as attention shifts to the first Test for India Cricket Team

With the practice match done and dusted, India will now gear up for the first Test starting on July 12. The two-match Test series against West Indies will be the first one for Rohit Sharma & Co in the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. This will be a slightly new-look squad with the addition of a few of the new players in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Mukesh Kumar.

With no Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammed Shami, the young players have a chance to stake a claim as a permanent member of the Test team.
In the two-day practice game, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed half-centuries.

Interestingly, Jaiswal opened with India skipper, fuelling speculations that he might make a Test debut as an opening batter in place of Shubman Gill. Senior players Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane failed to get going. While Kohli was out yet again facing a wide delivery, Rahane was out for one in the first innings by Unadkat.

Speaking about playing XI for the first Test, India are likely to include two spinners in the form of Jadeja and Ashwin on a dry Dominica surface besides playing three pacers in Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Unadkat.
