Rohit & Rahul Dravid were first to enter the ground

The practice session began as skipper Rohit and coach Rahul Dravid were the first ones to enter the field. The duo was also seen having a lengthy conversation near the pitch. Star batter Virat Kohli came out as he headed straight to the nets. The right-handed batter faced a couple of pace-throwdown specialists and two local net bowlers. Kohli also worked on his spin playing technique as he faced a left-arm orthodox spinner and an off-spinner.

Openers Shubman Gill and Rohit also arrived at the nets. Gill faced throwdowns from Vikram Rathour. Ashwin also bowled to the young opener batter. Senior batter KL Rahul also had a session of about 45 minutes. Rahul had some stretching exercises, light jogging, and other exercises designed to aid Rahul’s recovery process. It must be noted that Rahul has playing continuously since recovering from a leg-injury.

Despite the rigorous training, both Rahul and Kohli spent a significant amount of time to their batting practice. Their focus was clearly on lofted strokes and powerful hits. As many as 100 fans were present at the MCA Stadium as they chanted “Cheeku, Cheeku” while Virat was batting at the nets.
