WATCH: Mohammed Shami sets Ben Stokes up for perfect dismissal

Mohammed Shami, during the India vs England clash, toyed with star all-rounder Ben Stokes, to dismiss him for a duck.

Team India has been sensational in the World Cup 2023, with almost every player chipping, when the situation arises. Sunday was one more instance, when during the India vs England battle, the hosts came out on top, and that too comfortably. While the batting failed, as India managed a total of 229, after being asked to bat first, the bowlers stepped up, and how.

England was bundled out for 129 runs, as India emerged victorious by 100 runs, to get six wins out of six. That also makes it clear that they have qualified for the semis with three games to go.

Mohammed Shami – The Wrecker-in-Chief

After being overlooked by the Indian team management for the first four matches, Mohammed Shami had a point to prove. He did it in style by bagging nine wickets in the two matches he has played so far. In the India vs England match too, he ended with four wickets. In fact, he was the main reason, why India could stifle England. Out of the seven overs he bowled, two maidens were bowled, and 33 dots in all.

One of the main reasons for England’s failure was Ben Stokes’ failure, and Shami lost no opportunity to have a go at him. In fact, Shami set Ben Stokes up beautifully, to castle him for a duck.

Mohammed Shami Over to Ben Stokes in World Cup Clash

Ball 1: Shami pitches the ball a little short, and Stokes dances down the track for an expansive drive. But he misses it completely, as the ball moves away from him slowly.

Ball 2: The next ball, a little full from the previous one, comes back in sharply, and Stokes misses it again.

Ball 3: The third ball, a good-length delivery, moves in again, as Stokes misses for the third time in a row.

Ball 4: This one was similar to the first ball, which moved away from the batsman. Stokes missed once more.

Ball 5: Shami predicted well that Stokes would go for a wild hoick, and brought the ball to come in sharply. The batsman missed it by a mile and was castled.
