Indian cricketers Washington Sundar and Tilak Verma offered prayers at the Simhachalam Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Visakhapatnam before the IND vs AUS 1st T20I.

Both cricketers sought blessings and took part in a special ceremony at the temple.

Notably, this is not the first time that the members of the Indian cricket team have visited a temple before a cricket match.

Earlier in January this year, the members of team India, including Washington Sundar and Suryakumar Yadav had also paid a visit to Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple and offered prayers.

The members of the Indian team had also visited Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram during the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Team India will kickstart their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations with a 5-match T20I series against Australia.

Suryakumar Yadav will lead the young Indian side in the absence of injured Hardik Pandya. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be his deputy for the first three games. Shreyas Iyer will then take the responsibility for the last two matches.

India squad: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Vice-captain), Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (Wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shreyas Iyer (For 4th and 5th T20I)
