Watch Kohli, Jadeja demolishing cake as Shah-Binny marks their presence

Ravindra Jadeja & Virat Kohli continued their good form in the WC by starring with ball, & bat. The duo celebrated the win by cutting cake

Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja celebrated India’s emphatic win over South Africa by cutting a cake. Kohli, who turned 35 yesterday, starred with bat in hand by scoring 101, while Jadeja picked five wickets to bundle South Africa out for just 83. After going back to the dressing room, Kohli and Jadeja cut the cake and demolished it in the presence of BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah.

The BCCI bearers came to congratulate Rohit Sharma & Co for winning against South Africa in style. Also, they wanted Kohli, who equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring 49 ODI centuries. India also recorded their eighth consecutive win on the bounce and are the only unbeaten team in the World Cup.

Opting to bat first, India scored 325 on a slow and low pitch in Kolkata. Kohli played a typical innings and allowed Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav to finish the game well in the backend. Chasing a mammoth total, the Proteas batters never got going in the run chase and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They entered into India match by scoring a record 83 sixes in the tournament.

However, they failed to hit even one six against India and were dismissed below 100. Nonetheless, the thrashing won’t have an impact so much as they are qualified for the semis of the World Cup.
