Over 67k spectators at Eden Gardens erupted in joy as Virat Kohli took a quick single to complete his 49th ODI century in IND vs SA World Cup match on Sunday. It was special century for King Kohli in more than one way as he equaled the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of ODI centuries on his 35th birthday.
As soon as Virat Kohli took the single in the penultimate over of the innings, the Kolkata crowd stood on their feet and made a huge cheer as Kohli acknowledged the crowd.

It was a gritty knock from the former Indian captain who took 119 balls to reach to three-figure mark. His unbeaten 101-run knock included 10 fours.
The 35-year-old missed out on two other occasions when he scored 95 against New Zealand and 88 against Sri Lanka but finally reached his century in a special game.
Talking about the game, Virat Kohli’s century and Shreyas Iyer’s 77-run knock helped India score 326 for 5 on the tricky wicket in Kolkata. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also played a crucial knock at the start with a 24-ball 40 after he won the toss and opted to bat in the game.
