Dean Elgar received a guard of honour from teammates as he walked out for his final outing as Proteas cricketer in IND vs SA 2nd Test.

South Africa captain Dean Elgar received a guard of honour from his teammates as he walked out on the field for the final time as Proteas cricketer on Day 2 of IND vs SA 2nd Test in Cape Town on Thursday.

Elgar, who had announced retirement from international cricket before the start of the series, got a rousing reception from fans. Elgar acknowledged the gesture of the fans as he waved to the crowd.

The 36-year-old, who scored a match-winning 186 in Centurion Test, failed to make the same impact in Cape Town as got out for 4 and 12 in two innings of the Test match.
