Watch: Alyssa Healy reveals hilarious conversation with husband Mitchell Starc after joining 99 club

Throughout her career spanning nine Tests thus far, Healy has amassed a total of 455 runs at an average of 30.33, featuring three half-centuries

Alyssa Healy narrowly missed out on reaching her first Test century during the Only Test against Laura Wolvaardt’s South Africa at the WACA in Perth. Batting at No.5, captain Healy compiled a resilient innings of 99 runs off 124 deliveries, featuring 16 boundaries in the first innings on Thursday.

Her hopes of reaching the coveted milestone were dashed when off-spinner Delmi Tucker dismissed her. Attempting to guide the ball down to long on, Healy instead managed a leading edge, resulting in Tucker taking a straightforward catch off her own bowling. Healy’s 99-run knock places her in the “99 club” alongside her husband, Mitchell Starc, who also has a highest Test score of 99.

Speaking on the same Healy had the most hilarious revelation on her conversation with Starc on joining her husband in the 99 club.

“I think he said ‘if there’s anything that I can remotely relate to in our cricketing careers, it was yesterday’, so I guess that didn’t help me one bit.” said Healy.
