The latest ICC ODI rankings are here, and the biggest takeaway for Indian Cricket Team (ICT) fans is that, the star batter, Virat Kohli has moved up to the 4th spot after a spectacular show in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. Before the Champions Trophy, he was at 5th place. His amazing performances against Pakistan and Australia helped him rise in the rankings where he scored one century and one half century. Also, there’s bad news, which is that Rohit Sharma has slipped, now he’s at number 5 below Virat Kohli.
Rohit Sharma slips to 5th Place
Rohit Sharma started the tournament at number 3 but has dropped to 5th. Despite getting good starts, he couldn’t convert them into big scores. This consistent run of low scores affected his ranking, leaving him with 745 points.
Kohli in the Champions Trophy
Kohli didn’t start well in the tournament, scoring low against Bangladesh. However, he bounced back with a fantastic century against Pakistan, known to be his favorite opponent. After another low score against New Zealand, he regained form with crucial runs against Australia in the semifinals. With 747 points, he now holds the 4th position, and with one more game, he can go even higher.
