The proof of that was yet again visible when the two were seen having a serious conversation ahead of the second Test against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. Team India had a training session, that got delayed due to rain, which gave the two senior batters a chance to exchange a few batting tips.
Both Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen with their batting kits. Speaking about the veterans, both of them displayed good form in the first Test against West Indies. While the team India captain scored a sublime hundred, Kohli managed to score a fighting 76.
The duo’s efforts enabled a thumping innings & 141 runs victory for India. In the second Test, India would be eyeing a whitewash and extending their 21 years of dominance of not losing a Test series against West Indies.

Like the last two years, India have begun the third World Test Championship (WTC) cycle on a winning note and are leading the points table with 12 points. A win in the second Test would extend the lead in the WTC 2023-25 cycle. India ticked majority of boxes in the first Test as Yashasvi Jaiswal stroked a superb debut hundred, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 12 wickets, and Ishan Kishan did a decent job behind the stumps.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma hinted there will be minimal changes in the playing XI. With spinners ruling the roost in Dominica, Rohit might be tempted to play Axar Patel as the third spinner. But if the conditions remain overcast, he might go in with three pacers in Port of Spain for the second Test.
