Virat Kohli will always be the same. Current Delhi team manager and his former under-17 and 19 coach, Mahesh Bhati, has given an insight into how the former Indian captain has been inside the dressing room. Playing his first Ranji Trophy match since 2012, a lot has changed since Kohli last played. But the star batters remain the same.
No change in Virat Kohli since his junior days
“He is still the same. He is the same Virat for everyone,” Mahesh Bhati told the Times of India.
He’s gained stardom. Become the biggest name in cricket. Yesterday, Shivam Sharma shared how Kohli has remained humble, and Bhati narrated an incident that showed his down-to-earth nature. Kohli had joined the team on January 28 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

I’ll carry my kit bag, says Virat Kohli
“In fact, on the first day of the training session, he went inside the dressing room and carried his own kit bag. Then, he practiced the entire day and carried his kit bag back to the dressing room,” said Kohli’s former under-19 coach.
Bhati told other players to help the Indian legend by carrying his kit bag, but Kohli refused. Players can forget their phone and passport like Rohit Sharma has done in the past, but never their cricket equipment. It’s what has given them such laurels. Therefore, Kohli refused and carried his kit bag from the ground to the dressing room.
‘Virat, teri help kara dete hain (Virat, let us help you).’ He replied, ‘Bhaiya, kya baat kar rahe ho? Mere khelne ka samaan hai, mai khud leke jaunga (Bhaiya, what are you saying? It’s my playing gear, I’ll carry it myself). He carried the kit bag on his shoulders and went inside the dressing room,” he added.
