Virat Kohli & Ravindra Jadeja in race for ICC Cricketer of the Year

ICC has announced four players list to compete in the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are among the nominees.

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday revealed the nominees for ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023 which includes Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Pat Cummins, and Travis Head.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli continues to hammer out runs in both the Test and ODI formats after spectacularly returning to form with his exploits in the second half of 2022. He was the leading run scorer in ODI World Cup 2023 with 765 runs. Virat scored 671 in eight Tests at an average of 55.91.

Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja has amassed 613 runs and 66 wickets in 35 matches this year.

For Jadeja, it was a tremendous year in red-ball cricket. He made a significant contribution with bat as well. These included an unwavering 70 in the opening Test match against Australia at Nagpur.

Pat Cummins

The year 2023 was a dream year for Pat Cummins. In the Test arena, Cummins demonstrated his all-around skill as a player. During the first Ashes Test, he did not pick up a wicket in the opening innings, but he made a solid 38 runs to reduce the English lead to just 10 runs.

Travis Head

Travis Head was a hero was Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final. His 137 off 120 on a slow wicket was crucial to Australia’s World Cup victory, their sixth overall.
